Health Camps
To reach the interventions to other blocks
and sensitise the community on health issues, health camps were
organised at Gursanda, Bahadur Nagar, Wajir Nagar and Beehat
Gaur nyaya panchayats in Pisawan development block. Doctors, ANM,
anganwadi workers, CDPO, cluster in-charges, block development
officer, panchayat secretaries, gram pradhans, panchayat members
and community members participated in these camps. Information
regarding seasonal diseases and reproductive and child health
were given to the community members. Apart from this, check up
of pregnant and other women were carried out and information was
provided to them regarding the precautions they have to take.
They were also made aware of the consequences of child death and
frequent child bearing on mothers. A total of 1,357 people from
24 gram panchayats participated in four health camps. In all 394
people got themselves checked at the camps and benefited. These
health camps were organised to focus on reproductive and child
healthcare and family planning at Pisawan block.
Public Hearing Programme
Public hearing programmes were organised at
four nyaya panchayats of the development blocks on small social
issues like health, education, agriculture, panchayat, pension
and forthcoming panchayat elections. The sub-district
magistrate, block development officer, assistant basic shiksha
adhikari, superintendent of community health centre, doctor,
cluster in-charge, pradhan and members of gram panchayat,
secretary, teachers, civil society leaders and members of the
deprived sections attended these public hearings. Discussion was
held on adding names in the lists pertaining to agriculture,
health, education, panchayat, etc. Out of these some issues were
immediately solved and for the others the participants were
given assurances. A total of 385 people participated. Through
this programme, rural issues were put before the government
departments in a better way.
Total Sanitation Campaign
The organisation carried out baseline survey
in 13 gram panchayats under two nyaya panchayats under total
sanitation campaign programme being conducted by the government.
Attempts were made to sensitise the people by organising
meetings at the community level. The people were motivated to
construct toilets.
Training to Nehru Yuva Clubs on PEVAC
To reach the interventions to other
development blocks and enhance participation of youths in
panchayats, Nehru Yuva Clubs in Pisawan development block were
imparted training on PEVAC. Participants from block level NSV
and 12 Yuva Clubs attended the training. Information regarding
major provisions of the Panchayat Raj Act was given and youths
were motivated to participate fully in the forthcoming panchayat
elections.
