No social change can be witnessed unless there is participation of the deprived sections of the society have participation in developmental programmes and processes. In order to promote this participation of the deprived sections and women in panchayats, the Constitution was amended in 1993 to pave way for strengthening of panchayats financially and administratively. After the constitutional amendment, people and their representatives could not understand rights given to them in panchayats. As a result they have not been able to play their role and panchayats are not developing positively. Keeping this development in mind, the organisation is intervening with panchayats ever since its inception.

On the basis of experiences during the past two years, initiatives on the following programmes were taken on the burning issues of Sitapur district:

Women empowerment

Prevention of female foeticide

Primary education

Child healthcare

The organisation has taken up these issues independently. At the same time it has used these issues to strengthen the panchayats.

During the year under report inteventions with women were given new dimension. Attempts were made to promote their participation, role of leadership and entrepreneurship. During this year area of operation of the organisation also spread and now the organisation is working at the district level.

On the occasion of the publication of the annual report, the organisation thanks its donor organisations, collaborative organsiations, community, government departments, district administration, media persons and other well wishers. Only with their cooperation we have been able to achieve objective of the year.
